Skidsteer vs Stumps n Stones- Get'n It Done
This is the first of two videos moving tons of stumps, stone and broken concrete from my son's house. Mostly nothing but diesel sounds with very little talking...and that is only at the start and the end of the video. Enjoy. By the way, the red trailer that ultimately ended up broken in half right behind the braces to the goose neck can be found in this extended playlist : ruclips.net/p/PLk72G9DTzZ1uV4lrmUIfmZEjGluUdftz- #skidsteer, #dumper, #backhoe,

Horizontal Reducing Offset- Old School Sheet Metal Hack
Просмотров 794День назад
Today we layout a fitting that does two things, first a horizontal change in elevation and at the same time a change in height while maintaining the width. It's a reasonably simple fitting with a complicated sounding function. Follow along as the layout progresses from flat metal to finished product. A few shop tools are highlighted during the video, an 8' brake, an 18'' cleat bender and of cou...
MH 44 Hydraulic Hack for Control Valve Assembly
Просмотров 82214 дней назад
Today we perform a hack to a hydraulic control valve assembly that's typical of most Massey Harris tractors fitted with the style of underseat cylinder/controls for the 'Special' series. It is NOT something I'm at all suggesting for you to try, it is just what I had to do to facilitate simple reassembly of the draft control components. #hyraulic, #massey, #hack
Milling Nice Oak For An Old Friend -Frontier OS27
Просмотров 65221 день назад
Today's video highlights the ease at which a 'newbie' can operate an entry level bandsaw mill and consistently produce awesome products from just about any local hard or softwoods in your area. I am not the most 'experienced' guy out here using a band mill, but nonetheless I take on a project from an old school friend that lives about a mile away. That project is to haul and saw three 8 1/2' oa...
Lets Move A Massey Harris 44 Special To The Shop- Hydraulic Issue
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.21 день назад
Today we move the Massey Harris 44 Special that sprayed a wide 20 foot long plume of hydraulic oil all over me, the side of the shed and the tractor itself during the 'first start' of the tractor after coming here to live. It had been sitting for a year or more at the previous owners location and in his defense, he alerted me to a small oil leak under the seat. Let me say that was a gross UNDER...
Basic Duct Layout Refresher- Fresh Upload But Recorded in 2020
Просмотров 61821 день назад
The focal point of todays video is to highlight the basics of layout and folding of just a basic rectangular duct. It's not rocket science, its just a little thought and a pair of tin snips. Well....you need a few pieces of machinery too. Once you learn how much to allow for the various folds or machines, basically those dimensions are merely added to the dimensions of the required duct during ...
Second Load Of Red Cedar OR Is It Juniper- MX5400 and 66 Inch Grapple
Просмотров 709Месяц назад
Today we load the last of the wind blown cedar from my cousins property, transport it to my woodlot and sort it out with the Kubota MX5400 fitted with the grapple. You'll notice the novice operation of the grapple I'm sure, but that hopefully will change with continued usage in the near future. Of course if all the logs were of similar size and length without the smaller poles mixed in, the sor...

Sheet Metal Hack- Filter Slot in Return Air Duct
Просмотров 852Месяц назад
The focal point of todays video is to highlight how easy it is to make a filter slot in the return air duct that is simple to access. It's all about thinking about what is needed to make it easy for the home owner. Simply, an access slot and filter 'slide' is hand made during the layout of the return air fitting that is to be connected to the entering air end of a horizontal hanging air handler...
Three Phase Rotary Convertor Built Out Of Scrapped Materials
Просмотров 9702 месяца назад
Not a DIY. Not intended to be instructional beyond theory of operation. The focal point of the video is to show that not all scrap material is worthless. Every component used to build this functional little control box was destined to the salvage yard, discarded from construction projects and obtained during the demolition phase. Of course rotary convertors are available for purchase over the c...
Suzuki SV2200L Generator Sitting 20 Years First Start
Просмотров 9352 месяца назад
I bought this generator new back in '79 or '80 from a cousin that was the local Suzuki dealer. It was used consistently on new construction projects including the building of my own home. Since then it was only used sporadically the most recent being at least 20 to 25 years ago. It has been sitting on blocks under the bench since that time. I thought I'd drained the fuel tank, but found out tod...
Discarded Furnace Blower to Shop Fan Conversion

Today we investigate the ease at which something worth nothing becomes something very useful. As the title suggests, an old and discarded 110 volt blower assembly out of Brand X gas furnace is transformed into a shop accessory. MX5400 Maiden Voyage With Counterweight and Pine Log

Skid steers are a lot of fun! And sure beats digging pastures fence posts by hand! In the last 2 weeks I have basically ran all the implements for the skid steer on the farm, forks , auger, chainsaw bucket, and bail pincher for large round bails, oh yeah lets not forget about the grapple!😂 Wash off them stumps and you can have one heck of a bonfire!😂😂😂

It would appear from the various camera angles that you have shown in other videos as well as this one, that you exercise the principals set forth in Roger Welsch's book, "Old Tractors And The Men Who Love Them". Always park your tractors in a way that the Missus can only see three of them from any one vantage point. Your adherence to that sage advice seems to have worked well for you.

Howdy Wendell That skid steer really does the trick… I just got done clearing about an acre.. I have a ravine with a brook running down it.. It’s about 150 feet wide and wider in spots and it’s about 40 feet deep or more.. I pretty much cuts my property in half.. I have been dumping all the stumps and brush over one spot.. Great way to dispose of the debris from the clearing.. I have been dumping there for 40 years.. I bet I have taken 200 plus bucket loads down there.. hahahah Many hours driving back and forth.. Gets kinda boring after a while.. hahah After a few hours my butt hurts. Hahahaha I am so glad I have one cabed tractor.. I did three big piles the last few days and each one had those nasty yellow jackets in them.. I dig in and get a bucket load and I get about 1000 little yellow pissed off devils swarming my cab … I just smile and drive away.. Then do it over and over again… That was so satisfying.. hahaha Thanks for sharing my friend. Cheers

Good Morning Gus....it sure sounds like you had a fun project too !! I've never had the chance to use a cabbed tractor at all. But with the yellow jackets I bet you were happy as could be with yours !! I really like the skid steer for quick maneuverability in tight spaces. So much quicker than even an HST loader tractor. Hopefully your butt quit hurting with a little rest.....Hahahaha. Thanks for the entertaining story my friend.

    • @tractorman4461
      @tractorman4461 2 дня назад

It can be done basically the same way but to seal it properly it needs to be TiG welded on the corners. You can silicone caulk the corners but eventually it will leak. A TIG machine won't distort the metal while welding. Unfortunately its not an easy thing to do without the proper tools in a home shop.

Thanks Rick. This one wasn't too difficult of a layout once you draw it out. It'd be much harder to make it in two pieces though. Wasteful too. Four piece is the only way to go when hand layout is concerned.

Well, like I always say...if it was hard to do I couldn't do it !! (-; But thank you for the compliment. If you're interested in sheet metal, give this a shot, but scroll down about 7 to get to the good stuff:ruclips.net/video/wAKLPMRhCOA/видео.html. Thanks for watching too !!

Well I'm glad to have been a bit of a help to you. Once you learn to draw your oddities in isometric form the layout really proves to be much easier to complete. At least that's the way I figure it. Btw, have you found the playlists above..? If you're into sheet metal, consider giving this one a looksee: ruclips.net/video/wAKLPMRhCOA/видео.html The good ones start down about 6 or 7 though.

Tractoman 44, you are absolutely a genius, I thought I've seen and heard them all, but you proved me wrong, normally I'll heat something up and use WD-40, what you showed me is fantastic, I'll have to give it a try next time ⏲️, thanx old buddy. Verne Johnson Farmall kid

Hahahaha....I don't think I'd go quite that far, but thank you for the awesome vote of confidence. The big trick with ANY rusted/stuck bolt is patience. The candle wax seldom fails me though. Another great concoction is a 50/50 mix of acetone (auto parts store) and ATF. The acetone immediately wicks through the rust and carries along with it the now 'thinned' transmission fluid. A few applications and then an impact first in reverse then forward, then repeat the process. It usually ends up with a good result too.

This was just like having my dad or uncle walk me through what to do! I love this. Thank you for the straight to the point, informative video. My top isn’t working on my ‘07 GT and now I feel confident that I can get to the pump and check it out on my own. Having lost my dad and uncle, RUclips is now how I try to learn to work on my car. Thank you!

It's not really a difficult job. If you can find a tiny flexible hose to fit in the fill tube, you may not have to remove the pump like I did. Btw, here's another service video on the same Mustang: ruclips.net/video/e-Qu-W5fNcs/видео.html You may find it interesting.

Aw heck yeah man...good ear !! South of St Louis a little and right off the Mississippi. I've been a K-SHE listener for 45 years or more. When they were in Crestwood in the little box of a building I had to repair their a/c unit one evening and the DJ was talking to me live on air through the window. LOL I don't remember who it was. I also serviced the a/c's at the company that printed all their bumper stickers so I had access to all the 'discards' in the dumpster. Funny stuff.
